You can use the whole site without telling us who you are. There are no analytics scripts, no advertising, no tracking pixels, and no third-party cookies on any page. We only hold personal information about you if you typed it into a form yourself — an email address for carrier alerts, or your details for an API key. You can have either deleted by asking.
SEARCHING COLLECTS NOTHING
Carrier searches run from your browser straight against our public database. There is no account, no sign-in wall, and no log of what you looked up. We could not produce a list of your searches if we were asked for one, because we never build it.
This is a deliberate design choice rather than an oversight. People check carriers for reasons they may not want attached to their name — a driver considering an employer, a broker weighing a load, a journalist working a story, a family after a crash. Not recording it is the only way to make that safe.
The one consequence worth being straight about: we cannot show you your own search history either, and we cannot restore a comparison list you lose.
IF YOU SIGN UP FOR CARRIER ALERTS
CoopCheck Watch emails you when a carrier you're following changes — its grade drops, it joins a cluster, a new carrier appears in its reincarnation network, or it goes out of service. To do that we store exactly this:
- Your email address, and the carriers you asked to watch
- Which changes you want to hear about, and the dates you subscribed, confirmed, and were last notified
Nothing else. No name is required, no password exists, and there is no profile behind it.
A subscription only starts sending after you click a confirmation link, so nobody can sign you up for alerts you didn't ask for. Every alert carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and using it deletes the subscription outright rather than flagging it as inactive. You can also write to us and we'll remove it by hand.
Watching a carrier is consent to hear about that carrier, and nothing more. If you additionally tick the box offering occasional CoopCheck updates, that is a separate consent recorded separately — and unsubscribing from it and unsubscribing from an alert are two different actions, because they are two different things you agreed to.
IF YOU REQUEST AN API KEY
API access is tied to a key, and against that key we store the name and email address you gave us, your tier and monthly limit, and a count of requests used this period. The request count is a number, not a history: we keep the total, not a record of which carriers you queried.
We use the email address to reach you about your key — a limit you're close to, a breaking change, an outage. Ask and we'll delete the key and its record.
IF YOU CONTACT US OR SEND A TIP
The form on our Contact page is hosted by a third party, Tally, and submissions land with them before they reach us. Their privacy terms apply to what you type into it, alongside ours.
Name and email are optional on that form and anonymous tips are accepted. If you are sending us something sensitive and you want no record of who you are, leave those boxes empty — an anonymous tip is worth as much to us as a signed one. We will never publish identifying information about a tipster.
WHO ELSE SEES ANYTHING
We run on other companies' infrastructure, and two features send what you type to somebody else in order to answer you. Here is the complete list, and none of it is an advertising or analytics relationship:

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. There is no data broker in this list and there will not be one.
COOKIES AND BROWSER STORAGE
CoopCheck sets no tracking cookies, and there is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to. The only thing we keep in your browser is the list of carriers you've added to a comparison, which stays on your device, is readable by nobody but you, and disappears when you clear your browser data.
IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR YOUR OWN CARRIER RECORD
Everything CoopCheck publishes about a carrier comes from FMCSA public data about a business. We recognise that for an owner-operator the registered address and phone number can be a home address and a personal number — but that information is public because federal registration made it public, and it is published by FMCSA whether or not we mirror it. We cannot unpublish a federal record.
What we can do is point you at the system that can change it. If your record is wrong, the correction has to start at FMCSA's DataQs, and we reflect it on the next refresh. The full walkthrough is in section 03 of our Terms of Trust, along with a commitment worth repeating here: no carrier can pay us to change or remove a score.
WHAT YOU CAN ASK US TO DO
Write to contact@coopcheck.org and we will, without charging you and without asking why:
- Tell you everything we hold that is tied to your email address
- Correct it, or delete it
- Stop sending you anything at all
Because we never collected a search history, an advertising profile, or a login, those requests are quick to honour — there is very little to look through. Where the law where you live gives you stronger rights than this, we'll follow the law.
CoopCheck is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
WHAT WE WON'T DO
- No search logging. What you looked up is not recorded, so it cannot leak, be sold, or be subpoenaed out of us.
- No analytics or ad tracking. No scripts, no pixels, no third-party cookies, no cookie banner.
- No selling personal information. Not to brokers, insurers, marketers, or anyone else, at any price.
- No account required to see anything. Every score, cluster, and source is visible without handing over an identity.
- Deletion actually deletes. Unsubscribing removes the record rather than hiding it.
UPDATES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this page as the product changes, and the date at the top reflects the most recent update. If we ever start collecting something materially new, we will say so here rather than quietly widen a sentence — and the commitments above are not on the table.
